On Nov 4, 2015, Intel (USA) cooperated with the Ars Electronica Futurelab(Astria) to perform an astonishing lighting show of 100 drones dancing with Beethoven Symphony No.5.  The “Drone 100” took place at Flugplatz Ahrenlohe, Tornesch, Germany. Official Guinness World Records adjudicator Pravin Patel  was on hand to verify record and congratulate.

Developers are developing more applications of UAV day by day, and this “100 Drone”—art performance is a good example.  It was controlled by the computers in 3D calculation that  100 drones flying up to the sky like a phoenix,  including the following programsof colorful illuminating and flight permutations. They “danced” with the live symphony. It was as stunning as the firework, and it was more friendly to our environment.

After Amazon, Google, and other companies invested in UAV for quite a long time, Intel just showed its ambition in UAV market recently. According to Bloomberg, Intel capital invested 6million USD into Yuneec in Aug 2015. For the purpose of “Intel inside”, Intel capital kept investing in UAV companies, such as Airware & Precision Hawk.

In 2016 CES, it was sensational that Intel announced the acquisition of German UAV Ascending Technologies (referred as AscTech).  AscTech is leading UAS developer & manufacturer for professional and civil & research UAV use.  It frequently operated over 1,000 of the unique aircraft solutions worldwide.
